The Learning Lab and Access Your Credentials
Learning Labs are supplemental online training areas and are primarily for referrers and agents. At IACFB there are two (2) Learning Labs with one designated for purchasers of the IACFB’s Factoring 101 Broker’s Guide and the other for Affiliate and Associate members of the PALs Sales Qualified Lead Program.
Boot Camp is a designated category at Commercial Finance Consultants Magazine and is primarily used for Case Study articles and examples to help our newest referrers to get their foot in the door and to begin earning their first residual commission income.
What is a Learning Lab and Boot Camp?
For independent brokers and consultants looking to maximize their success, ongoing training is essential. That’s where Learning Labs come into play. These custom training portals, developed by the International Association of Commercial Finance Brokers (IACFB), serve as an invaluable resource for agents, brokers, and freelance consultants working in the factoring and alternative lending industries.
What Are Learning Labs?
A Learning Lab is a specialized online training portal designed to support agent development. Learning Labs accompany various IACFB training guides and function as interactive learning hubs where trainees can access exclusive content, training materials, and ongoing professional development opportunities.
At IACFB, there are two primary Learning Labs:
- Factoring 101 Brokers Learning Lab – This lab supports the standard Factoring 101 Brokers Guide, providing foundational knowledge on factoring, industry best practices, and strategies for generating leads.
- PALs Agents Learning Lab – Designed specifically for the PALs (Professional Agent Locator System) program, this Learning Lab helps PALs agents refine their skills, understand commission structures, and optimize their referral networks.
Beyond these core Learning Labs, professional freelance consultants using FB-Series websites also develop their own customized Learning Labs, tailored to their unique agent networks.
Custom Learning Labs for Freelance Consultants
One of the most exciting aspects of Learning Labs is their customizability. Professional factoring brokers and consultants who actively build their agent networks use FB-Series websites to create bespoke Learning Labs that cater to their specific audience. These independently managed Learning Labs serve several key functions:
- Linking to Training Articles: Many consultants integrate industry-specific training articles from Commercial Finance Consultants Magazine into their Learning Labs. These articles help new referrers stay up to date with factoring trends, marketing strategies, and best practices.
- Showcasing Commission & Productivity Bonuses: Each Learning Lab can highlight current commission structures, limited-time incentives, and performance-based bonuses to keep agents motivated.
- Promoting Active Contests & Engagement Programs: To encourage engagement, many consultants run contests for their agents, such as referral challenges or sales competitions. These contests are prominently featured in Learning Labs.
By offering customized content, professional brokers and consultants can enhance agent performance, improve retention, and drive greater success within their networks.
Why Learning Labs Are a Game-Changer for Factoring Brokers
Learning Labs are more than just training pages—they are dynamic tools for business growth. Here’s why they are essential for brokers and consultants looking to scale their operations:
1. Standardized Training for New Agents
A well-structured Learning Lab ensures that every agent receives the same high-quality training, reducing the time and effort required for onboarding.
2. Continuous Skill Development
Factoring is an evolving industry, and ongoing training is critical. Learning Labs provide agents with continuous learning opportunities through updated content, training modules, and expert insights.
3. Stronger Agent Engagement & Retention
When agents feel supported and have access to exclusive resources, they are more likely to stay engaged and committed to their role.
4. Increased Deal Flow & Revenue
A well-trained agent network generates more leads and closes more deals, ultimately driving revenue growth for brokers and consultants.
The Future of Learning Labs at IACFB
As the factoring industry grows, so too will the role of Learning Labs. Future enhancements may include:
- Interactive Training Modules – Incorporating video tutorials, quizzes, and live webinars.
- AI-Powered Learning Recommendations – Customizing content based on an agent’s progress and interests.
- Integrated CRM & Communication Tools – Making it easier for consultants to manage and support their agent networks.
Learning Labs represent the next evolution of training and development for factoring professionals. Whether you’re a new agent learning the ropes or an experienced consultant building a thriving network, Learning Labs offer the resources, tools, and support you need to succeed.
