Understanding Your Basic Directories Listing
The Lenders Directories at IACFB are not only an important database for our members to locate the right factor or lender for a particular client ot industry, but it is also an important database for factors and lenders to locate you. The Lenders Directories were designed to fulfill that function.
Client Searches
Though not initially designed for it, the directories also provide a powerful resource where small business clients can access sources of financing and this is a particularly importand feature for brokers and consultants. Most small business owners prefer to work with someone they can see eye to eye. The want to work with someone locally. And for brokers and consultants that is one of the primary benefits of the directorories.
Key Listing Form Areas
All form fields on you Listing Form are important but several features as key features and critical to add the right way.
- DESCRIPTION: This is a highly important area and provides a first look at “why” a business owner should work with you. Among other information, your description should contain your sales or elevator pitch. This is where you sell yourself locally. Talk about your memberships such as member of the local Chamber of Commerce. The more a prospect can learn about you and your “local foot print, the better your description with work for you.
- PREFERRED INDUSTRIES: This is where you list the types of businesses you typically work with or finance and you have hundreds to choose from. This is one of the most important fields for you to complete. Additionally, if you see an industry that is not included on the list and one you want to add, we will do it for you. We give you up to 30 business types to add. Use them. This is how a client that is searching for a lender for a particular industry will find you.
- B2B Industries...this are industry that are primarily for factoring. If it is an industry that generates invoices, that is primarily a cleint for factoring
- B2C Industries: listing such as restaurants, barbershops, nail salons, etc. that deal with consumers are primarily candidates for merchant cash advance
- CERTIFICATIONS: Certifications are your way to brag a little about your credentials. You can not add them when building your listing. This must be done by IACFB staff when you have completed one of the Class Marker exams.
- PERSONAL IMAGE: Adding a personal image rather than a logo is much preferred for your business. As with the imformation you add in your description about you activities in your local community, an image goes a long way to make a prospective client become more comfortable meeting with you.
- SOCIAL MEDIA: LinkedIn is critical to be a member of for business and its that simple. If you are not a current LinkedIn member and are serious about getting leads and generating commissions, sign up and immediatley post your URL in your listing form field. Facebook and Twitter (X) are beneficial as well, but LinkedIn is critical.
